Music is pretty HUGE in my life. Always has been. I still remember waking up on Saturday mornings, as a child, to the sounds of my parents playing Styx, Alabama, Steve Miller Band, and Ronnie Milsap. My kids will be telling stories like these one day.
If you haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy, I have to say it's a must-see! Music is a big part of it and it's a great mix of 70's music. My three teenagers love it and my 18 yr old bought the Soundtrack! Check out this clip below to see Peter Quill (played by Chris Pratt, @prattprattpratt) jam to his mix tape . . . on his walkman!
I used to LOVE making mix tapes, growing up. I had my little boombox, covered in stickers, with the Record and Pause buttons pushed, waiting for the Top 20 Countdown to come on the radio to record my favorite songs. It was great (unless someone walked in during recording and made noise).
So what am I currently listening to? I have a "Mix Tape" (playlist) for every mood, I swear. I have Coffeehouse, Instrumental, Alternative, Singer-Songwriter, etc. But my faves are the ones that pump me up, the "Art Tunz", "Car Singing", and my newest creation "Turn It Up Up Up". Here are a few of my faves from this "mix tape":
"Go the Distance" by White Buffalo
"S.O.B." by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats
"Cheerleader" by Omni (a Felix Jaehn Remix)
Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth
"Locked Away" by R. City (feat. Adam Levine)
"Blind" by Rise Against
"Top of the World" by Tim McGraw
"Sugar Suga" by Baby Bash
"Lose My Mind" by Brett Eldredge
"Fast" by Luke Bryan
"Winning Streak" by Glen Hansard
"Renegades" by X Ambassadors
"Ex's & Oh's" by Elle King
"Fight Song" by Rachel Platten
"Give It Up to Me" by Sean Paul
"It's Still Rock and Roll To Me" by Billy Joel
"Voices" by Disturbed
"My Sharona" by The Knack
"Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift
